Elite junior golfers will compete at the world-renowned Pacifico Course in partnership with the Mexico Junior Golf Association
St. Augustine, FL — March 10th, 2026 — The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship (NB3 JGNC) is proud to announce the launch of the first-ever NB3 Mexico Championship, set to take place at the spectacular Pacifico Course at Punta Mita, one of Mexico’s most celebrated golf destinations.
This historic addition to the NB3 pathway marks the first time the championship series will host a qualifying event in Mexico, expanding opportunities for elite junior golfers across North America while strengthening the NB3 mission of growing the game globally.
Located along the Pacific coastline in Riviera Nayarit, the Pacifico Course at Punta Mita, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is consistently ranked among the top courses in Mexico and is home to the famous “Tail of the Whale” island green, the only natural island green in the world. The venue has hosted PGA TOUR events and is recognized internationally for its breathtaking oceanfront layout and world-class facilities.
“We are incredibly excited to bring the NB3 experience to Mexico and to partner with such an iconic venue,” said Notah Begay III, founder of the NB3 Junior Golf National Championship. “Punta Mita offers a championship-caliber stage for junior golfers while giving families the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful golf destinations in the world.”
Partnership with the Mexico Junior Golf Association
To help identify and develop the next generation of elite players in Mexico, the NB3 JGNC has partnered with the Mexico Junior Golf Association, which will host three local qualifying events leading into the Mexico Championship. “We are proud to partner with the NB3 Junior Golf National Championship to help bring this world-class platform to Mexico. This partnership represents an important step forward for junior golf in our country, creating new opportunities for talented players to compete at a higher level, gain international exposure, and be inspired by a pathway that connects Mexico’s young athletes to some of the best championship experiences in North America. We believe this initiative will not only elevate competition, but also strengthen the long-term development of junior golf in Mexico.” Top performers from these qualifiers will earn their place in the field at Punta Mita, creating a direct pathway for Mexico’s top junior players to compete on the NB3 stage.
This collaboration strengthens NB3’s commitment to international growth and to providing meaningful opportunities for junior golfers around the world.
